but, i didn’t make it a point to actually watch all the animations released in cinemas, and from today onwards I WILL

all thanks to watching G- Force a fortnight ago and i suppose it’s also partly because i watched in it 3D and, yeah… it’s my first time watching in that dimension LOVE IT!!!

okay, so for the remaining of this post i gonna be ranting on the animations that are set to hit our Malaysian cinemas in the near future

CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS

it was only after throwing the title around in my brain cavity for few hours that i realize it sounds almost similar to what one would hear coming from the weatherman on tv i guess that’s the point

only from the title and watching the trailer so far, i’m already sure that this gonna be one of my fav animation movies the food, the food, the food !!! *says it in a sing- song voice*

Bobb’ e J. Thompson as Cal Devereaux, Earl’s son, the “cool” kid

Lauren Graham as Fran Lockwood, Flint’s deceased mother

if such a place exist, i’d consider livin there… whaddya say?

A CHRISTMAS CAROL

the one thing i’ll always remember bout christmas is the christmassy  movies on tv

a 2009 film adaptation of a Charles Dickens’ 1843 story of the same name

director: Robert Zemeckis and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures

so, even though i don’t feel like having a synopsis of this film here, for i feel that knowing it’s some christmas tale is more than enough… i’ll still put it up for the benefit of those who wanna know, even a lil bit, of what they are  soon to be watching

a Victorian morality tale of an old and bitter miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, who undergoes a profound experience of redemption in one night. He is a financier/money-changer who has devoted his life to the accumulation of wealth, thus holding anything other than money in contempt, including friendship, love and the Christmas season. THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG

seeing as this is a fairy tale animated movie, i don’t think it’ll appeal to me

fairy tales just appear to me as a bore, but i don’t think such tales as this are childish

director: Ron Clements, John Musker

released by Walt Disney Animated Classics, and me hating to disappoint; it’s available only in 2D

loosely based on E.D. Baker’s version of The Frog Prince

this film revolves around a beautiful girl named Tiana, a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again, and a fateful kiss that leads them both on a hilarious adventure through the mystical bayous of Louisiana

the cast:

Anika Noni Rose as Tiana, a 19-year-old waitress and aspiring chef who dreams of owning her own restaurant one day. The heroine of the film.  She was originally named “Maddy” and had the job of a chambermaid , but this was changed due to racial prejudice suspicion

Elizabeth Dampier voices Tiana as a child

Bruno Campos as  Prince Naveen, an early twenty-something gregarious, smooth-talking, and fun-loving prince who comes to the French Quarter for the Jazz scene and with whom Tiana and Charlotte fall in love. Was originally named “Harry.”

Jennifer Cody as Charlotte La Bouff, an 18-year-old spoiled southern debutante, diva, and Tiana’s best friend

Breanna Brooks voices Charlotte as a child

and that all of them are swooning when edward cullen comes to the screen

well, now,  precisely for the sake of these people and his fans, i’m directin you guys to one good site which is all bout rob that i had found quite a while back when surfin the net

balls of fury

if any of you people out there want a good laugh and haven’t watched this movie yet, you gotta go grab the DVD and spend two hours with a PG-13 rated sports comedy

it’ll be worth to spend that money, i swear

i’ve heard it before sometime around last year, but it didn’t occur to me as something worth watching

now i knew i’m wrong

i came across it on HBO today while browsing through the channels on Astro, searching for something actually interesting to watch; Ultraman Dyna, Dragon Ball and Mr Bean live asides

Maggie Q’s appearance was the one that caught my attention to decide on this movie

she’s beautiful =)

i’ve never actually hear the word Chinese usually use to address the whites in a movie before: Gwei Lo (Master Wong portrayed by James Hong calls Randy Daytona by Dan Fogler that)

i love the Chinese elements in it

i was utterly, utterly, utterly shocked when “The Dragon” was introduced and i saw a Chinese girl behind the opened door instead

the locals of China Town speak of her as if she was some great ping pong player and impossible to beat

fortunately, she loses but man, she was not one to accept her defeat graciously; she gave pretty lame excuses in Mandarin and even cried like some silly kid then kicks Daytona before running off in defeat

Feng, the bad guy has an flamboyant dressing sense with clothes similar to like those that Elvis Presley wore

before seeing him appear in the movie, i thought he was a Chinese from his name and seing his residence that was in such an Oriental deco, located somewhere in the jungles of Central America

geez, i realized i had some spoilers here. sorry though

it’s certainly one of the best comedy i had ever watch, in actual fact i hate comedies ever so much

not my favorite movie genre, i prefer horror and action movies

the mummy: tomb of the dragon emperor review

months before the release of this movie i was hoping for something really good from director

something that is somewhat similar to the previous installments yet different in a way

but what i had watched recently certainly isn’t similar in any way to the previous Mummy movies

there’s not even a single mummy in sight

well, the title implies that there should be mummies or maybe, creatures wrapped in linen

however, what we see in here is three- headed dragons, the Yeti (abominable snowmen) and a fur- covered triceratops

and there’s Maria Bello as Evelyn O’Connell, replacing Rachel Weisz

she just don’t act like the scholarly Evelyn whose attitude is in contrast to the sarcastic Rick O’Connell

she’s completely different, like another person

i miss Rachel Weisz!!

but i’m glad that Rob Cohen didn’t make a wrong choice in casting Michelle Yeoh as sorceress Zi Juan and Isabella Leong as her daughter Lin

perhaps, i wouldn’t be really bothered about those things mentioned above if the movie was entertaining

the movie was one huge cliche, same old script with same old jokes

the clichés in this movie seem to be never- ending and i kinda like can expect what the next scene will be

the movie progresses exactly like the previous Mummy movies, hardly any different

however there are few hilarious moments

one of it was Rick O’Connell trying to catch some fish for dinner, and with him failing to do so decided to SHOOT the fishes with his gun; during dinner time when the fish is served, Evelyn eats it and found a bullet in the fish

the sight of skeletons being harmlessly skewered by arrows

one more thing that disappoints me is the portrayal of Jet Li as the Dragon Emperor

he doesn’t have a frightening aura as an evil emperor, and he’s kinda gay

he’s just a pyrokinetic and cyrokinetic emperor with a shape- shifting ability, that’s all

his awakening don’t seem like something that will destroy all mankind, unlike what we see in Mummy and The Mummy Returns where unspeakable evil is once more free to roam the Earth and rule

all in all, this movie has managed to entertain me a lil bit and there’s lots of room for improvement

i love the O’ Connells mansion!

my rating: 5 out of 10

Queen of the Damned

i got to now about this movie through an article in StarTwo honouring late stars that had left their mark in the entertainment industry with a memorable performance

now, probably the name Heath Ledger comes to the mind of those reading this post

his recent on- screen performance in The Dark Knight as Batman’s clown- faced nemesis, the Joker had mesmerized many, including me

this article also reminds me of Aaliyah, the American singer, dancer, actress and model that starred alongside Jet Li in Romeo Must Die

OMG! i love that movie and yeah, i’m still not bored of it yet

from there on i started watching all Jet Li;s movies such as The One, Kiss of the Dragon, Hero, Fearless, The Forbidden Kingdom and soon, The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

at the same time, i also started watching Jackie Chan’s movies which i don’t know why, such as Shanghai Noon, Rush Hour 2, The Accidental Spy, The Tuxedo, The Medallion,Shanghai Knights, New Police Story, The Twins Effect, , The Twins Effect II, Around The World In 80 Days and The Forbidden Kingdom

actually, i watched The Medallion, The Twins Effect and The Twins Effect II because Edison’s acting in those movies

i watched The Medallion but in the end, i didn’t see Edison (or Nicholas Tse) which are playing cameo roles at all =(

the article also mentioned that Aaliyah had just completed the vampire flick, Queen of the Damned before her death on August 25, 2001

she plays the character of Akasha, Queen of the Damned (mother of all vampires)

she’s got eyes and eyebrows like the eye of Horus

is that how the eyes of queens of Ancient Egypt look like??

from what i had known, Queen of the Damned is the third novel in The Vampire Chronicles series after Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice

i’ve got a few of her books, namely Interview with the Vampire and New Tales of the Vampires

soon after reading the article, i watched Queen of the Damned

OMG! it’s just so cool

i like Stuart Townsend’s portrayal of Lestat in the movie ! i like him!

the ending of this movie is so SWEET! Lestat and Jesse are together in the end, and i hope they’ll be together till the end of the universe!!!

i suppose he also joins Edison Chen as Kazaf in The Twins Effect as my favorite vampire, and i hope that it’ll be the same case with Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen in the upcoming Twilight movie

i’m gonna buy the two more remaining novels in The Vampire Chronicles series

Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone

this much- anticipated film was first released in Japan in September

screened in South Korea on 24 January ‘08, Singapore on 13 March ‘08, Hong Kong on 3 April ‘08, and Taiwan on 18 April ‘08

Australian-based Red Ant Enterprices announced Evangelion 1.0 as one of 35 titles they will bring to this continent throughout 2008 and into 2009

Dybex distributor (France) has announced it will release Evangelion 1.0 in France at the 2008 Annecy International Animated Film Festival

Evangelion:1.o You Are (Not) Alone ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:序 premiered at The Picturehouse, Cathay Cineplex, Damansara on last Thursday

this film was awarded anime of the year at the Tokyo International Anime Fair, while its director received best director

Evangelion New Theatrical Version: The Beginning was also nominated for Animation of the Year at the 2008 Japan Academy Prize

its finally here, even so will it receive a warm welcome from Neon Genesis Evangelion fans here?

we all know, there’s never been an anime like this one

Neon Genesis Evangelion is also known as Shin Seiki Evangelion

this anime created a sensation when it was aired in the mid -1990’s in Japan

what’s more, this anime was even credited back then for helping to revive a flagging industry, literally merchandise leapt off the shelves in a mere blink of an eye

presently, Evangelion director Hideaki Anno is ‘rebuilding’ his iconic creation into a Rebuild of Evangelion tetralogy based on the original tv series

this animated film is produced by Anno’s Studio Khara

Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, the first of the four scheduled movies is bringing back Megumi Ogata, Megumi Hayashibara, Kotono Mitsuishi and Yuriko Yamaguchi

the plot:

it’s in the year 2015 and Earth is recovering from a global catastrophe that killed half of the world’s population

The Second Impact, said to be a meteor that struck the Earth, paved the way for the arrival of monstrous beings, Angels

unlike what their name will seem to mean, Angels devastate cities and the only thing that can defeat them are Evangelions, or Eva; whichever you please

a depressed boy, Shinji Ikari arrives in Tokyo-3, summoned there to meet his long- time- no- see dad, Gendo

at the NERV Headquarters, his dad turns out to be Supreme Commander of NERV responsible for stopping Angels and buildind the Eva units

Gendo orders his son to pilot an Eva unit and battle the Angel attacking the city, unexpectedly his son refuses

however, after seeing the sight of Rei Ayanami, too injured to pilot; he finally changes his mind

in the final scene, a naked Kaworu Nagisa is awakened by SEELE on the barren surface of the Moon

he engages in brief, cryptic conversation with one SEELE monolith, saying that “the third one” hasn’t changed at all and that he looks forward to meeting Shinji

Kaworu’s coffin is flanked on each side by four open tombs to the left and four unopened tombs on the right

in front of him is an unknown white giant who resembles Lilith, wears the purple SEELE ‘Seven-eyes-of-God’ mask seen in the original series, and is surrounded by construction and scaffolding

the creative team assures that 1.o to 4.0 will be portrayed in a new light

there will be new characters and it seems as if, the storylines are different here

an Evangelion 2.0 is slated for release in Japan this year

i’ll be watching Evangelion: 1.0 soon enough

twilight movie in theatres on 12/12/08

i’m gonna grab this book the next time i go Kino

i’m feeling a lil bit lazy today, so i’ll just copy paste the plot summary from wiki for those who do not have the slightest idea about this young adult vampire novel

ok, here goes.. >_<

Isabella Swan, commonly known as Bella, moves from sunny Phoenix, Arizona to rainy Forks, Washington to live with her dad, Charlie, so that her mom, Renée, can travel with her new husband, Phil Dwyer, a “strictly minor league” baseball player. Even though she never had many friends in Phoenix, Bella soon discovers she is the new subject of curiosity at her new school in Forks, where she is quickly befriended by several students. Much to her dismay, several boys in the school compete for shy Bella’s attention.

While sitting next to Edward Cullen on her first day of school, he glares angrily at her and displays extreme tension. This leads Bella to believe that he dislikes her. However, his attitude towards her soon begins to change. He displays supernatural abilities while saving Bella from being hit by an out-of-control van about to crush her into another car. After seeing a dent on the side of the van in the shape of Edward’s shoulder, she realizes the van hit him and that he seemed to be holding it away from her, keeping her safe. Bella confronts him afterwards about the strangeness of the situation, but he refuses to talk to her about it. As time passes, Bella and Edward are repeatedly attracted to one another, even though Edward desperately tries to stay away in order to keep her out of the danger that he will likely put her in.

Bella eventually learns from her friend Jacob Black of the Quileute tribe and her own observations that Edward and his family are “vegetarian” vampires who drink animal blood rather than human blood. Despite this, Edward and Bella fall deeply in love. Their foremost problem is Bella’s “alluring scent”, making it difficult for Edward to restrain himself from killing her. However, despite this and Bella’s strange knack for constantly landing herself in dangerous situations, they manage to stay together safely for a time.

The seemingly blissful state of affairs is thrown into chaos when another vampire coven sweeps into Forks and James, a tracker, sets his sights on Bella. Under the assumption that James has kidnapped her mother, Bella is lured to her former dance studio, where James attacks her. Edward, along with the rest of the Cullen family, rescues Bella before James can kill her.

The book ends with the two going to Bella’s prom. Beneath the surface, tension remains as Bella wishes for Edward to turn her into a vampire and Edward refuses to do so. The reason for Edward’s adamant decision not to turn Bella into a vampire is not revealed.

i suppose no vampire would ever turn their lover into a vampire…

i’ve got a whole lot of vampire novel at home and it’ll be a shame if i couldn’t get my hands on this book

Twilight has spawned two sequels, New Moon and the latest, Eclipse

Twilight is a #1 New York Times Best Seller which has sold over five million copies worldwide

the sequel Eclipse most recently debuted at #1 on the USA Today bestseller list unseating the newest Harry Potter

currently, Stephenie’s working on Breaking Dawn which will be officially released on 2nd August 08

for now, the cover of Breaking Dawn is still not made available to the public but come 31st May 08 the Eclipse Special Edition can be purchased during the annual BookExpo America Show

this book will include Eclipse and the cover art of Breaking Dawn, plus the fist chapter of Breaking Dawn

since both the cover of this fourth book AND the first chapter will be revealed to the public for the first time, there is definitely no excuse to not buy this book

i hope that the date will also be the worldwide release of this book

there will be an upcoming Twilight movie by Summit Entertainment LLC with its production slated to begin this month

got to know about this when i visited a link on msn.com

Kristin Stewart as Bella

and…..

Robert Pattinson as Edward

the Cullen vampire family will be comprised of Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice and finally Kellen Lutz as Emmett

good job to the production team for being able to find such great actors that could portray supernaturally beautiful and talented vampires

if the actors of a vampire movie couldn’t portray such vampires, then i suppose the movie couldn’t be a vampire movie

this Stephenie Meyer romance novel will be directed by Catherine Hardwicke of Thirteen (2003) and Lords of Dogtown (2005) fame

with the script written by Melissa Rosenberg, Karen Rosenfelt, Greg Mooradian and Wyck Godfrey

i just couldn’t wait for this movie
