eyes, eyes,eyes

That fine part of our construction, the eye, seems as much the receptacle and seat of our passions as the mind itself; and at least it is the outward portal to introduce them to the house within, or rather the common thoroughfare to let our affections pass in and out.

Joseph Addison

eyes is the window into one’s soul

though it may seem small and insignificant, it’s actually BIG

BIG enough to make people hate you, like you, love you or be afraid of you

its the finest part of you

a complicated structure designed by God to be uniquely you

-uniquely me-

chocolate eyes, green eyes, violet eyes are all so beautiful, even the common brown eyes is beautiful

but we, humans are creatures that’ll never be satisfied….never

if we got this color of eyes, we’ll wish for some other eye color

and i’m no exception either, but i love my eyes ever so much =)

girls will dream of having eyes like those in the mascara ads by Chanel and Lancome

omg! the eyes are so alluringly seductive; mascara power and eye color

i LOVE GREEN eyes the most! Princess Sakura’s eyes!

i also love RED and ORANGE (i mean amber) eyes! reminds me of Kaname (Vampire Knight), Kyou (Fruits Basket) and Syaoran (Tsubasa Chronicles)!

today i had seen two pairs of eyes that’ll remain etched forever in my mind

the first pair of eyes belonged to a teacher of mine that had been teaching here since Cempaka Cheras first opened

but she’s now gone

these eyes made their appearance during break in school, in a sad state ~ eyes that had clearly been crying~

to the 2008 Form Five students of Cempaka Cheras, they’ll probably know who i’m talking about

for those who doesn’t know who’s that, leave it like that….. it’ll do you good, and probably the same for me

being the only one that has been let in on this issue, i seriously don’t know who should i be siding

anyways, goodbye

the second pair of eyes is a really scary one and a friend of mine told me about it recently

but being me, i half-heartedly believed what she said and blamed it on her for not doing the homework that this teacher gave

so far, i’ve not came across any stare that’s really scary, and made me feel scared

my turn came today when i met HER at the stairs after school

she was staring hard at me and look somehow twisted. TWISTED

let’s call her ‘TW’

TW: Where did you went just now?”

Me: Ms Chang’s class

i’m not afraid to tell her the truth though it sounds kinda dope

i’m not like a few of her loyal students which are real HYPOCRITES

yeah, you heard me right. HYPOCRITES

she became our Biology teacher when the school got this idea to divide our class into TWO; set teaching or so they call it

they divide us by randomly choosing our names in the name list

we’re not satisfied, there’s no proper explanation

so, we ought to have the right to choose the teacher that we’re accustomed to

no need to be afraid, guys

i’ve bought it!

i went to Pavilion just to buy this tote that i mentioned in the earlier post

luckily, the tote is still there

its like there’s only two of this in the whole store; one which is on the shoulders of the mannequin and one more new one

its quite expensive but its money well- spent

i’m happy, very happy

when i saw this tote last Saturday, it seems like the white color of this tote is painted on it

however, my dad said it’s made of canvas

just like what i’ve thought it turns out to be really painted

sounds kinda dope but i suppose that Levi’s wanted something different from those totes out there…..

Levi’s bag

this is the second time around that i went shopping at Pavillion and fell in love with something at the Levi’s store there

this something is a white tote which bear little resemblance to my GAP tote

it’s made of canvas or something like that, i’m not sure

it costs RM 239, no discount

all the other items in this store got discount, the jeans, accessories you name it

it seems like it, 30% off here and 50% off there

most of the items there, except this bag which was on the shoulder of a mannequin

i asked my parents if like they can like pay part of it, they was like ‘no’

the reason was simple because they don’t like the bag; mom was like it’s white so it’ll get dirty easily, dad was like he just don’t like it

wth. but i understand…

i’ll be saving up my money to buy that bag, and i’ll buy the bag soon before it’s gone i hope

no, i don’t buy everything with my own money except for things like bags and accessories which my parents seriously think that it should be bought with my own money

yeah, i agree coz it’ll make me more money- wise, or not i’ll be a spendthrift person

this bag is of last season

i also bought a new customized key chain to replace my key chain that dropped on the floor the other day, which had caused few of the diamonds(fake) in it to fall off

i tried gluing it back, but it failed terribly cause the yellow glue that i used made these diamonds to turn yellow

and yeah, it turned out ugly…

it saddens me cause i really liked that key chain very much, but there’s nothing that can be done….and i bought another one today

i kept that former one safely in my room and still like that key chain

if i love something, nothing will ever change that, no matter what happens

Queen of the Damned

i got to now about this movie through an article in StarTwo honouring late stars that had left their mark in the entertainment industry with a memorable performance

now, probably the name Heath Ledger comes to the mind of those reading this post

his recent on- screen performance in The Dark Knight as Batman’s clown- faced nemesis, the Joker had mesmerized many, including me

this article also reminds me of Aaliyah, the American singer, dancer, actress and model that starred alongside Jet Li in Romeo Must Die

OMG! i love that movie and yeah, i’m still not bored of it yet

from there on i started watching all Jet Li;s movies such as The One, Kiss of the Dragon, Hero, Fearless, The Forbidden Kingdom and soon, The Tomb of the Dragon Emperor

at the same time, i also started watching Jackie Chan’s movies which i don’t know why, such as Shanghai Noon, Rush Hour 2, The Accidental Spy, The Tuxedo, The Medallion,Shanghai Knights, New Police Story, The Twins Effect, , The Twins Effect II, Around The World In 80 Days and The Forbidden Kingdom

actually, i watched The Medallion, The Twins Effect and The Twins Effect II because Edison’s acting in those movies

i watched The Medallion but in the end, i didn’t see Edison (or Nicholas Tse) which are playing cameo roles at all =(

the article also mentioned that Aaliyah had just completed the vampire flick, Queen of the Damned before her death on August 25, 2001

she plays the character of Akasha, Queen of the Damned (mother of all vampires)

she’s got eyes and eyebrows like the eye of Horus

is that how the eyes of queens of Ancient Egypt look like??

from what i had known, Queen of the Damned is the third novel in The Vampire Chronicles series after Interview with the Vampire and The Vampire Lestat by Anne Rice

i’ve got a few of her books, namely Interview with the Vampire and New Tales of the Vampires

soon after reading the article, i watched Queen of the Damned

OMG! it’s just so cool

i like Stuart Townsend’s portrayal of Lestat in the movie ! i like him!

the ending of this movie is so SWEET! Lestat and Jesse are together in the end, and i hope they’ll be together till the end of the universe!!!

i suppose he also joins Edison Chen as Kazaf in The Twins Effect as my favorite vampire, and i hope that it’ll be the same case with Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen in the upcoming Twilight movie

i’m gonna buy the two more remaining novels in The Vampire Chronicles series

ball pen love

I ABHOR BALL PENS ! that’s a statement i gotta make this time

yeah, while many may find that ball pen is kinda nice to write with, I HATE BALL PENS!

there isn’t even a single ball pen in my pencil case, unlike my classmates which have loads of it

but lately, there’s one ball pen in my little black pencil case

it has never occurred to me to try loving ball pens, and up till now its just for the sake of the upcoming exams

but, i went to the stationeries section at Kino the other day and found this great ball pen!

unlike the Pilot Super Grip F, this pen is inexpensive

ZEBRA Z-1, 1.0 mm

maybe i’ve gotta thank the thickness of the tip for the comfortable writing feeling that i got from this pen

but then, i suppose few of you out there might have never heard of this brand, or so i thought

i do frequent bookshops like Popular, MPH and Kino in search for stationeries that other people don’t have, or few people have

these are the pens that i’ve bought and’ve never seen any other person using it yet, except for the fact that my dad also got a black- ink Stabilo bionic

wth! blame it on the bookshop that sells only blue- ink Stabilo bionic

1) Pilot neXtage

2) Pilot V7

3) Stabilo bionic

i think my ball pen love this time wouldn’t last long, but this love will always be out there somewhere, just linger on like an unnoticed shadow

Jaspal

last Saturday when i and my mom were on our way to the food court at Pavillion, we came across this shop- Jaspal

at that instant, the shop had left an impression on us which was like ” We sell those kind of Indian clothes and Indian themed clothings”

my brain rang an alarm “Don’t enter that shop!”

but little did i realize that this label is in fact a huge name in Thailand

this brand is Thailand’s answer to brands like Gap, Guess? and Topshop

with an outlet that goes by the name Jaspal, it’s sure not a wonder to be thinking of Indian clothes, accessories and the like

i suppose ther are many more others like me who have never heard of it, with this being the first time

i don’t usually go Thailand, so far i’ve been there twice plus the fact that i’ve never even stepped a foot at Siam Paragon

i’d love to go shopping there =)

this Thai label is founded by Jaspal Singhsachathet that sells only imported apparel and accessories in the beginning

it was only after some time that it became a full- fledged retail entity with in- house designers and factories to create and manufacture its own fashion wear

ya’ know what??

Kate Moss, Gisele Bundchen and Milla Jovovich are among the famous faces of Jaspal!

the clothes from Jaspal include work wear, casual wear, sports wear and denim wear

dissecting a frog

these are pictures that i’ve taken during the 4 Sc 2 frog-dissecting session

for us, the students of 4 Sc 1 last year, this is our second time

however, last year we got to dissect fish in addition to frog

dissecting the fish is pretty tough as we’ve (Lex and me) got to remove the fish scales before cutting it at the sides and i’ve gotta be careful of the bones

cockroaches were also there for us to dissect, but who dares, anyway?

certainly, the girls wouldn’t dare, but the guys?

ok, back to what happened today..

our Biology teacher brought 4 frogs which she asked her mom to buy

then, i asked her whether it’s dead or alive

she replied that her mom had put the frogs in the fridge after buying them and the frogs died of cold..

what?! but i guess dying from the freezing cold might be better than killing it with chloroform (what we did last year)

i came along when the 4 Sc 2 students of last year carried out this frog- dissecting thing

my objective is to snap photos of frog brain i attribute this to curiosity

after cutting the skin and the muscular wall of the abdomen, the internal organs came into view

no blood came flowing because the blood are just contained in the organs and the like, unless you dissect it wrongly

i was looking at this girl dissecting the frog, and then our Biology teacher was like ” Who wants to check their blood group?”

then, many of the students and this girl also went to her to get their blood group checked

for me, this is not something new

i’ve seen my classmates doing this in lower secondary i’m not sure if i had tried this 2 years ago..

she just left this frog here and went away =(

so, i went to the frog and took a look at its inside (pics above)

i asked our teacher to show me how to find the frog’s brain

what she told me to do was cruel, far too cruel

break the skull and remove pieces of the skull out like removing the broken shell pieces on a steamed egg

i can’t do it, just couldn’t and thoughts of people eating monkey brain entered my mind and i could somehow feel the pain of having someone doing exactly the same to me…

“don’t break open my skull, don’t look at my brain! ahhhh……….”

i tried to think of something less cruel……..but there’s just no other possible way, and i gave up on seeing the brain of a frog

i went to the others to check how they were doing, but none of them had got to the the brain yet…… they’re looking at the organs

i’ve looked at the organs enough already last year, and we ( Lex and me) were able to look at the reproductive system of the female frog that we dissected, there’s this stuff which is like the color of egg yolk (eggs in the ovaries)

i was told that snow jellies are made of these

yuck!!

this proves me wrong, so wrong

all these while when i’ve got a warm bowl of these placed in front of me, i thought that it’s made of female frog intestines

and not those normal frogs

frogs that live in the cold forest of Jiang Baishan mountainous region in Northeast China, that’s what those snow jelly salesperson say…

this time, i managed to see the testes (which i realized later on)

then, Alex came and started to try his best to have a glimpse of the brain

he didn’t show any sense of pity for the frog and was like knock, knock, knock on the skull and also trying some other means to see the brain

finally, after countless knocking and a lil bit of this and that, the brain is exposed!

i saw the brain which is like 5x smaller than the size of golf balls, but i didn’t take a photo of the brain

i just don’t know what came into me and somehow i just didn’t on my camera and snap!

pig brain

those of you reading this post might be like “what’s the big deal bout pig brain?” or maybe go “eww.. gross!’

anyways, i’ll give the photos here the honor to speak for themselves, first..

~ the hands which are holding the brain in these photos are my dad’s~

this idea came about when our Biology teacher taught us about the human brain; cerebrum, cerebellum, brain stem, hypothalamus and all

it didn’t really made me thought of this but somehow made a note in me to explore more bout brains

on another occasion, my mom bought a whole duck for dinner and all the unwanted parts of the duck is in a container which people normally use to rinse vegetables and the like

i was like passing by the sink and just stopped in my tracks to look at this unwanted parts of a duck…something caught my eye, it looks like the liver or stomach or heart of duck and i called my dad over (who was peeling fruits for himself, at the moment)

he came over, took a knife, told me that it’s the heart of a duck and cut it open into two

it looks kinda similar to the human heart, i’ll post the pictures later, when i’m free as i’m now busy preparing for the National Chemistry Quiz

~back to the pig brain~

when i was doing my Biology project, i went to wiki to find out more bout brains and soon enough i realised that the practice of consuming brains is rooted in a number of cultures

i copied and pasted the brain delicacies below from wiki

In the Southern United States canned pork brain in gravy can be purchased for consumption as food

the brain of animals also features in French cuisine such as in the dish tête de veau, or head of calf, with the full meal that includes the brain, tongue, and glands

similar delicacies from around the world include Mexican tacos de sesos made with cattle brain as well as squirrel brain in the US (South)

the Anyang tribe of Cameroon practiced a tradition in which a new tribal shief would consume the brain of a hunted gorilla while another senior member of the tribe would eat the heart

the Fore people of Papua New Guinea in which those close to the dead would eat the brain of the deceased to create a sense of immortality

WTH!

Indonesian cuisine specialty in Minangkabau cuisine also served beef brain in a gravy coconut milk named gulai otak (beef brain curry).

Roasted or fried goat brain is eaten in south India and some parts of north India

Norwegian cuisine includes smalahove where a singed lamb’s head, including the brain, tongue and eye, serves two people

before this, i thought that the chinese are the only ones that eat brains, i mean monkey brains..

on the other hand, this is what i’ve found while googling ‘pig brain’

pig brain poisonous

pig brain and eggplant frittata

i never knew that the gases of the brain matter of a pig are somehow hazardous to our health and i’ll never agree to the act of consuming brains of any animals or maybe… humans for cannibals??
