Beijing Olympics 2008…..

we all know that the mascots are named as it is because it means “Beijing Welcomes You”- Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni

the mascots embodies four of China’s most popular animals; BeiBei the Fish, JingJing the Panda, HuanHuan the Olympic Flame, YingYing the Tibetan Antelope and NiNi the Swallow

BeiBei represents the blue Olympic ring, strong in water sports

in traditional Chinese culture and art, the fish and water designs symbolizes prosperity and harvest, and so carries the blessing of prosperity

JingJing represents the black Olympic ring, an athlete noted for strength

a national treasure and protected species, pandas are adored by people everywhere, chosen to represent our desire to protect nature’s gift- and to preserve nature’s gift for generations to come

really contradicts with what humans on this earth are now doing; chopping down trees, hunting down wild animals for tusks, fur to be sold in the black market, so on and so forth

HuanHuan represents the red Olympic ring, excels at all ball games

wherever HuanHuan’s light shines, the inviting warmth of the Beijing Olympics and the wishful blessings of the Chinese can be felt

YingYing represents the yellow Olympic ring, quick- witted and agile boy

a symbol to the vastness of China’s landscape as he could cover great stretches of land within a short time

NiNi represents the green Olympic ring, strong in gymnastics

Swallow also pronounced as “yan” in Chinese, and Yanjing is what China’s second largest city, Beijing was once called during the ancient times when it was a capital city

don’t the recent happenings just seem too much of a coincidence?

superstitious bloggers in Hong Kong have linked the recent 7.9 magnitude earthquake and other recent misfortunes to the five Olympic mascots

gossip sites are overflowing with speculation that four of the five mascots have fulfilled prophecies of doom with one more portentously still to come

oh my! this really send chills down my spine…. prophecies of doom…..

JingJing, a panda, the animal most closely associated with the Sichuan province, the place where the recent earthquake struck

thousands of young, innocent kids were killed and thousands more were buried

doctors tried to rescue those which were trapped in the rubble but their efforts were futile, only few were saved by amputating their limbs

HuanHuan, was linked by bloggers to the Olympic torch relay that has been dogged by anti- China protesters during its round- the- world touR

from San Francisco to Ho Chi Minh city, protesters representing various political issues particularly China’s human rights, the recent unrest in Tibet and war in Darfur

these protests ranging from tens of thousands to almost none have forced the path of the torch relay to be changed or shortened

during the Paris leg, the torch was extinguished by Chinese security officials numerous times for security reasons

YingYing, an antelope, an animal confined to the borders of Tibet , which was the scene of riots and the cause of international protests against China

NiNi, represented by a kite, is being viewed as reference to Weifang in Shandong, the “kite city” where a deadly train crash occured last month

that leaves only BeiBei, the sturgeon

online doomsayers suggests that this could mean a looming disaster in the Yangtze River, the only place where Chinese sturgeons are found

after typing this much, i stopped a little while and thought to myself ” Do i believe all this?”

well, i may not believe in stuffs like Feng Shui but the death of Bruce Lee whch was closely linked to Feng Shui had made me QUITE a believer

now, i suppose these claims might be real, and if this is the case than it’ll be really bad news

something linked to Yangtze River might mean something very terrible, maybe gotta do with the Three Gorges Dam or Gezhouba Dam *touch wood*

i don’t hope that this so- called prophecy will come true, though

and i guess that anyone reading this post or somehow got to know about this piece of news will not hope that it will happen

it wouldn’t be good for disasters like this to happen with only 83 more days to the Olympics

it’ll be utterly sad to have many lives lost again, pity those families….
