banana toffee sundae

well, i tried this latest dessert from McDonald’s at Sungei Wang

i always try any latest food in the market, from colored Twisties to Snow Choc and pizzas

alas, i never had the chance to try the green bean sundae =(

not really bothered by the leaflet from McDonald’s so it just came and went away with the wind

it tastes a bit like the yellowish flu medicine that i used to take when i’m still a kid

makes me kind of regretted for trying it….

i tried this dessert because it is the latest offering from McDonalds and many people don’t like bananas

for those who loathe bananas, this is absolutely a no-try

i don’t loathe bananas but i have to admit that i don’t love it as much as i love grapes and plums

but if you all really want to try, go ahead! its a good try…

but i’ll never, never eat McDonalds banana pie…. simply because it doesn’t look delicious

i’m kinda of lovin’ it (banana toffee sundae)

proton saga

this is probably one of the worst Malaysian made car

was launched in conjunction with the 50th Merdeka Anniversary Promotion in Malaysia

whaa?!

i don’t know whether to say that this is a good way to thank Proton’s customers for their support since the first Proton Saga

anyways, it is kinda good for their customers pockets as its only RM26,999 during that promotion period

a shame to its predecessor.. the first Proton Saga

when i first sat in the car, the first thought that came to my mind was “my, this car doesn’t even feel safe!”

the frame of the car is like damn thin, you’ll feel it when you close the door

in the car, i was like sitting in the middle of the back seat, not daring enough to sit near the door, in case i fall out

too exaggerating, but its true…….

i heard that Proton cars don’t go through safety tests, oh god!!! i suppose if Proton cars really do go for these tests, only a crumpled chunk of scrap metal will be all that’s left of the car =(

so, i’ve nicknamed this Proton Saga – Flimsy car

the car also doesn’t feel comfortable, the seat at the back is too straight for comfort to lean on

this car is ugh!! but its still better to drive around in a car like this than having to walk on foot

my dad’s old Proton Saga of 15 years is much more comfortable compared to this one

Now, I, Rinako will officially announce the new name of this car “Flimsy Car”

=)

childish, eh?

i’m really childish in some way or another up till now…

Beijing Olympics 2008…..

we all know that the mascots are named as it is because it means “Beijing Welcomes You”- Bei Jing Huan Ying Ni

the mascots embodies four of China’s most popular animals; BeiBei the Fish, JingJing the Panda, HuanHuan the Olympic Flame, YingYing the Tibetan Antelope and NiNi the Swallow

BeiBei represents the blue Olympic ring, strong in water sports

in traditional Chinese culture and art, the fish and water designs symbolizes prosperity and harvest, and so carries the blessing of prosperity

JingJing represents the black Olympic ring, an athlete noted for strength

a national treasure and protected species, pandas are adored by people everywhere, chosen to represent our desire to protect nature’s gift- and to preserve nature’s gift for generations to come

really contradicts with what humans on this earth are now doing; chopping down trees, hunting down wild animals for tusks, fur to be sold in the black market, so on and so forth

HuanHuan represents the red Olympic ring, excels at all ball games

wherever HuanHuan’s light shines, the inviting warmth of the Beijing Olympics and the wishful blessings of the Chinese can be felt

YingYing represents the yellow Olympic ring, quick- witted and agile boy

a symbol to the vastness of China’s landscape as he could cover great stretches of land within a short time

NiNi represents the green Olympic ring, strong in gymnastics

Swallow also pronounced as “yan” in Chinese, and Yanjing is what China’s second largest city, Beijing was once called during the ancient times when it was a capital city

don’t the recent happenings just seem too much of a coincidence?

superstitious bloggers in Hong Kong have linked the recent 7.9 magnitude earthquake and other recent misfortunes to the five Olympic mascots

gossip sites are overflowing with speculation that four of the five mascots have fulfilled prophecies of doom with one more portentously still to come

oh my! this really send chills down my spine…. prophecies of doom…..

JingJing, a panda, the animal most closely associated with the Sichuan province, the place where the recent earthquake struck

thousands of young, innocent kids were killed and thousands more were buried

doctors tried to rescue those which were trapped in the rubble but their efforts were futile, only few were saved by amputating their limbs

HuanHuan, was linked by bloggers to the Olympic torch relay that has been dogged by anti- China protesters during its round- the- world touR

from San Francisco to Ho Chi Minh city, protesters representing various political issues particularly China’s human rights, the recent unrest in Tibet and war in Darfur

these protests ranging from tens of thousands to almost none have forced the path of the torch relay to be changed or shortened

during the Paris leg, the torch was extinguished by Chinese security officials numerous times for security reasons

YingYing, an antelope, an animal confined to the borders of Tibet , which was the scene of riots and the cause of international protests against China

NiNi, represented by a kite, is being viewed as reference to Weifang in Shandong, the “kite city” where a deadly train crash occured last month

that leaves only BeiBei, the sturgeon

online doomsayers suggests that this could mean a looming disaster in the Yangtze River, the only place where Chinese sturgeons are found

after typing this much, i stopped a little while and thought to myself ” Do i believe all this?”

well, i may not believe in stuffs like Feng Shui but the death of Bruce Lee whch was closely linked to Feng Shui had made me QUITE a believer

now, i suppose these claims might be real, and if this is the case than it’ll be really bad news

something linked to Yangtze River might mean something very terrible, maybe gotta do with the Three Gorges Dam or Gezhouba Dam *touch wood*

i don’t hope that this so- called prophecy will come true, though

and i guess that anyone reading this post or somehow got to know about this piece of news will not hope that it will happen

it wouldn’t be good for disasters like this to happen with only 83 more days to the Olympics

it’ll be utterly sad to have many lives lost again, pity those families….

Raja Petra bailed

Raja Petra is bailed , courtesy of Marina Lee Abdullah

finally he decided to post bail after his wife uttered these four words ” I want you home”

i guess it is all thanks to the power of love

i suppose any man that hear his wife saying such things will feel somehow guilty for making his wife unhappy by not agreeing to post bail in the first place when there are many of us out here ready to contribute

or perhaps it’s part of a plan he had all along?

we’re all furious with BN for charging Raja Petra under the Sedition Act when what he had said wasn’t wrong or even seditious

” the Government has always been liberal towards bloggers and has no plans to clamp them down on them” Najib said

do you call sending someone that has done no wrong to prison, as being liberal ?? wtf

but his wife would probably be the only one person most affected by this incident

read this blog post from Susan Loone’s blog

so far RM 44 000 had been collected via a specially set up CIMB bank account through an online campaign

despite declining prison food for a day, Raja Petra was still fine except for having a backache

Raja Petra’s got a lot of willpower for he resolved to refuse all meals, if it was me i suppose i’ve died already

after he was released, Raja Petra told reporters that he met with Sirul Azhar Umar and Azilah Hadri (accused in Alatantuya’s murder)

last night, another candlelight vigil was held at Dataran Merdeka which was an oppurtinity for those who were unable to attend the vigil on Thursday

on Thursday, our fellow Malaysians held a candlelight vigil for Raja Petra outside the Sungai Buloh prison

seems like about 100 or more people were standing brave here

ended at 11pm

that’s the true spirit of a Malaysian!!

Raja Petra charged

Raja Petra, editor of Malaysia Today was charged under the Sedition Act at the Petaling Jaya Sessions Court

at Dang Wangi police station with wife, Marina Lee Abdullah

BECAUSE OF THIS…… Raja Petra said (in his article) “Let’s send Altantuya’s murderers to hell”. and also for his recent article on Altantuya’s murder

this is a really lame excuse wtf

charging him for saying something petty like this, IT DOESN’T MAKE SENSE AT ALL!

does this mean that he should have said it the other way round :-S

he claimed trial to the charge which was under Section 4(1)(c) of the Sedition Act

Raja Petra was granted a bail of RM 5 000 but he refused to post

instead, he decided to remain in custody until the hearing date, 6 October 2008

now, he is being remanded at the Sungai Buloh prison

if found guilty, Raja Petra could be jailed for a max of three years and/or face a fine of up to RM 5 000

an innocent man fears nothing

“I am happy. I want to challenge the government. We bloggers have declared war on the government. We are not scared of the government. The government should be scared of us,” he told reporters before going into the court.

“Is it seditious to influence people against corrupt leaders? There is nothing seditious,” he said. “Do you think I do not have evidence?” (Associated Press)

Raja Petra

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nordin Hassan is prosecuting while Raja Petra was represented by a team of six lawyers led by Karpal Singh

-criticized DPM Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor for “abusing the laws” in allegedly getting Raja Petra to be charged for sedition. And urged both husband and wife to use other legal means to deal with him (Malaysiakini)-

Lim Kit Siang

-a duty for everyone to come and show their support for Raja Petra-

” especially since Malaysia Today was the primary source if unearthing scandals especially corrupt practices of the leadership and the government”

Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar

Raja Petra had been the voice of the Rakyat; advocates for transparency, accountability and justice in the Malaysian political system; denounces money politics, corruption and ethnic polarisation

now is the time for us to assist him during his difficult times

come on, let’s contribute

i’ll certainly contribute for this cause

unfortunately, the campaign was CALLED OFF 20 minutes ago, 5.30pm

even though Raja Petra doesn’t want to post bail but the ” One Ringgit One Person” campaign SHOULD still go on to show that Malaysians give full support to Raja Petra

“This is a statement he wants to make. He feels that he has done nothing wrong and we don’t have the funds.”

Marina Lee Abdullah

everyone out there wouldn’t mind to donate, right??

it’s only RM 1, a small amount of money but i couldn’t deny the fact that, we can buy one bottle of mineral water (but not in my school) or maybe a packet of chewing gum, at least

then, the money collected might perhaps be donated to charity

on another occasion, Syed Akbar Ali was charged for allegedly posting seditious comments on Malays and Islam on Raja Petra’s article “Malaysia’s organized crime syndicate; All roads lead to Putrajaya“.

he, however posted a bail of RM3000
